What is a "Visual History" ?
We are in the service of creating and retaining memories through digital media. Our mission is to provide our customers with the highest level of service and customisation to make their project one of a kind. We strongly believe in what we do, we are good at what we do, and your satisfaction is what is most important to us.
We also pride ourselves in keeping up on the latest archiving capabilities of today's technologies, which allows us to offer our expertise to customers who may need to take their older media, boxes and closets full of photos, video, or slides that may be deteriorating as the years go by, and transfer them to more durable media. DVDs offer a more lasting option to save these memories. Remember, if an event was important enough that you or your friends and family took the time to photograph it or get it filmed, it is important enough that you take the necessary steps to make sure you protect those memories.
We help to enable the sharing of these memories in such a way that its meaning is as apparent to those you share it with as it is to you.
How does it work?
You decide the images, be they still or film/video, that you wish included, you put them in whatever order that you would like them to be seen on screen (usually chronological but it can be by any grouping that suits your purpose e.g. different parts of the family grouped together, geographical areas, etc) Contact Visual Futures and we will come and discuss your concept, look at the photos to be used, their condition, number involved and complexity of the project and we will then give you an obligation-free quote.
What will it cost?
The pricing is obviously dependent on the number of images involved, the condition of the photographs, whether they are digital images or whether they have to be scanned first, whether they are slides or negatives, is there any VHS tape to be converted and included etc? Hence we are happy to give an obligation free quotation.
Photographic Restoration
A lot of photographs have been stuck in albums, sometimes under a plastic film, or in corner holders regularly used to hold photographs in place in older albums. The photograph will be damaged by the plastic film, it may have stuck to it, or the corners holding the photographs in older albums stick to the photograph. Often when photographs start to fall out of an album, people with good intention stick them back in with glue. An old album with photographs falling out means they can become creased, torn and in a multitude of ways get damaged. Not all damage is repairable, but a lot of minor to medium damage is capable of being improved. There are some examples of restored photographs on this site and more will be added soon.
Even if you do not wish to have a full DVD created, and just wish to have some old photographs repaired, brightened, or restored please feel free to call us for a quote.
